Upcycled Oatmeal Container

Wednesday, July 2, 2014
My recent project - recycling an oatmeal container to a home decor (wall frame). I had been wanting to do this for awhile now but got demotivated due to never ending house chores and two young kiddos. Until two days ago I got so determined to start this project and tell you what, I finished it! lol. How many of you have unfinished project(s)? I have countless! ***guilty*** I feel so satisfied to get this one done and in such a short time too!

Here is the final result, to be honest it looks a lot better in real. I cut the container manually to like 1.5" wide for each of them.

Wrapped them around with patterned papers and embellished with embellishments.

Wonderful News!

Friday, June 27, 2014
Yes! I have some wonderful news to share with you all! I have been selected by Just For Fun Stamps and Clear Scraps to be one of their team designers recently ! I'm so very excited and grateful to be given such an amazing opportunity to work for them, they have such great products that I can't wait to get my hands on! For some of you who have not heard about them, Just For Fun Stamps is a stamp manufacturer (they manufacture/sell many different types of stamps for different occasions such as Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary Halloween - just to name a few) whereas Clear Scraps produces stencils, masks, albums, inks and many more (they have monthly kit too, great for scrapbooking and card making if you are interested)! Take a moment and check out their websites to learn more about their products, I'm sure you will like them. :-)

I will start posting for JFF Stamps in July and the beginning of August for Clear Scraps. Don't forget to come back to see what we will create!

Here I want to take the opportunity to thank both companies for giving me the chance, it truly is a great honor to be on your teams! THANK YOU! XOXO

Now move on to the card, made this card after I saw a color combo of grey and green on my hubby's phone when he showed me something. So I used shades of black to make this Thank You card. I only had three ink pads, black (Versafine), Charcoal and Granite (Hero Arts) thus the flow of color from dark to lighter grey is not vivid.

The background flowers and Thank You words are stamped image.

Stamped another flower image and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers in green.

As for you, thank you too! You have been an amazing and loyal reader/supporter! :)

Love You Bunches!

Tuesday, June 24, 2014
Here is a love card on a non-valentine's day! I was playing with dauber and inks and this is the result of my experiment, totally worth the time. hehe. I daubed the background with different colors of ink and sprayed with gold and white Color Shine (one after another, spray the gold and let dry before applying the white color) from Heidi Swapp. It gives the card a beautiful shiny treatment. :)

Embossed with Cricut embossing folder side-ways, leaving enough room for title

"XOXO" embellishment alphas are from Basic Grey, I recently purchased their warehouse sale's box and it contains pretty much alphabet stickers in there. So I picked one of the styles and embossed it in gold embossing powder.

Co-incidentally, the heart-shape embellishments they are also from BG.

Close-up, love the gold!

Thank you again for taking time to look at my project, I'm grateful for your support! Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Coloring with Spectrum Noir

Tuesday, June 17, 2014
Coloring flower with Spectrum Noir Markers.

Water-colored the embossed greens in the background

Second attempt, somehow the same color doesn't work as well as the first card shown above. The blue flower looks great though, love the color just spread out smoothly and evenly. I should perhaps improve the red/pink flower by adding another layer of light pink all over.

Title stamp from Jilibean Soup. Background flowers are from the same stamp but embossed in white embossing powder.
