Happy Halloween!!

Wednesday, October 29, 2014
Sharing a card that was on Just For Fun Rubber Stamp blog yesterday, a Halloween card for your last minute card idea (if you are a last minute person like me - lol)! This should be my last Halloween project for this year, I can't believe I have created so many Halloween projects compared to previous years!

Here is the card:
I stamped one stamp in another, to do that you have to stamp the pumpkin's stamp above on a scrap paper and cut it out (no coloring required).  Stamp the same stamp on a white card stock, color it and use that cut-out to block out the stamping for the larger stamp.

Stamped Bat's silhouette from JFF. To stamp bat individually, ink the stamp and block the other silhouettes with tape.

Happy Halloween title from JFF too!

Just For Fun Stamps used for the card:

Thank you for stopping by, Happy Halloween! :)

Xyron, Core'dinations and Petaloo Blog Hop!

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Good day everyone! Welcome to Xyron, Core'dinations and Petaloo blog hop! Thank you for taking time to check out my post as I'm sharing two projects I created for this blog hop today. I'm so grateful and happy to have such a chance to create using products from three fabulous companies. One of the projects I'm sharing today is a Halloween project since we are still in October. :) Believe it or not, I've never celebrated Halloween before I moved to the States!

Now that I have my own kids, the exposure to Halloween is greater because of how much the little ones love Halloween! So, I think it would be a great idea to make something for my daughter because this year she will be going trick or treating with her brother. I had this plastic container of a cake (it was a my favorite chocolate mousse cake!) that my husband brought from Whole Foods , immediately I thought of turning it into a Halloween Trick-or-Treat bucket - a girly one for my little princess!

What do you think? I even have a tutorial for this if you'd like to make one yourself. Don't forget to check out my second project at the end of this tutorial!

Tutorial starts here:

Step 1: Find a container that is not too big nor too small, I used a cake container they sell at Whole Foods

Step 2: Apply adhesive on to a strip of ribbon and wrap it around the top of the container

Step 3: Trim four strips of orange paper from Core'dinations at about 1-1/4" wide and four strips of white card stocks at 1-1/4" wide (only orange strips of card stocks are shown here for illustration purpose).

Step 4: Emboss the orange strips of card stocks, I used my big shot to do this and I used two different embossing folders for each different layer that I wrapped around the container.

Step 5: Sand all embossed strips of card stocks using Core'dinations Sand It Block

Step 6: Run the sanded strips of embossed card stocks through Xyron Sticker Maker

Step 7: Wrap around container with alternate color of the strip of card stocks such as white-orange-white-orange (bottom up, for first layer of white card stocks, leave about 1/2" on the outside. Refer to Step 10), you will need two strips of card stocks for every stage. When you are done, hot glue trims of ribbon from Petaloo to where the two different strips of card stocks joined such as shown in picture below.

Step 8: Embellishing the container with Petaloo paper flowers with hot glue

Step 9: To cover the bottom of the container, trace the circle on a Core'dinations card stock and cut it out.

Step 10: Glue the exposed strips of card stocks to the bottom of container.

Step 10: Place the cut-out circle from Step 9 on top of the result from Step 10. glue it with hot glue. The glue Petaloo's lace ribbon around the edge of the circle

Step 11: Embellish the container with butterfly cut-outs (use core'dinations  card stock, emboss and sand it), Petaloo paper flowers, blings, ribbons and son on!

This is how it turns out!

The handle is very sturdy and allow to hold up great even when the bucket is full!

Halloween Bat Stick Mask

Saturday, October 18, 2014
Hello all, it's Alexia here today to share a project idea with you! It's getting closer to Halloween and I have been making some Halloween projects for my kids. I will share one of them today, a Halloween stick mask! It's fun and easy to make and its's cute for the little ones! I have a brief tutorial to create this mask too.

Here is the tutorial to create this mask!

Step 1: Using a die-cutting machine, cut out a mask. I used a bat's cut file to do that.

Step 2: Cut another cut file that is larger than the one in Step 1 to use it as second layer for the mask.

Step 3: Glue two cut-outs mask together, glittered mask on top.

Step 4: I used Samantha Walker's Spooky word cut-out and use it to decorate my mask!

Step 5: Using a watermark stamp pad, rub it on the back of the Spooky cut-out and emboss it in gold color embossing powder.

Step 6: Adhere the embossed Spooky cut-out over the finished mask in Step 3. Make sure the double Os fit just where the eyes of the bat are!

Step 7: Now this step and step 8-9 are optional. I don't have a right stick for the mask so I used what's available in the house. I used three skewers, taped them together and cover them with card stocks on the outside. If you have something better than skewers, use it and glue it to the back of the mask as shown in Step 9!

Apply adhesive on the taped skewers on both sides and adhere them onto card stocks

Step 8: (Optional) I suggest to use a paper trimmer for this, I don't know why I didn't do that! So the imperfect cut kinda ruins my end project! Sigh... Anyway, you get the idea, paper trimmer for perfect cut!

Step 9: (Optional) Glue the finished stick to the mask and you are done!

Here is my little boy with the mask! I don't have good lighting so the picture didn't turn out as nice. Also, I did some bargain with my boy for this picture. Although it only took a lollipop but oh boy, kids nowadays sure know how to bargain!
What do you think? I love the quality of CutCardStock's card stocks, great for all kind of paper crafting!

Halloween Pyramid Lantern

Friday, October 10, 2014
Hello everyone, happy Friday! I hope your day has been treating you good and thank you for taking your time to check out my today! I want to share a little project I created using the October kit today, have you gotten this kit already? Let me tell you, it's fabulous! Those cute mini acrylic shapes are just so irresistible and the paper pad, gorgeous! The first thing that popped into my mind was this cute pyramid lantern with spooky ghosts for Halloween! You can also make it with the mini arcylic owls but I prefer the ghost ones on mine. :D

Who turned the light off?!!? This is how it looks like when the light is out. You can hang this lantern outside the house too, or on a tree branch. I think it's going to be so cute! And if you have little ones, have them bring this along while trick or treating (just make sure you use battery operated candle). :)
I hope you like the project. Not Included in the kit: Ribbon, faux candle and burlap twine.
This October kit is available here http://www.clearscraps.com/category_s/83.htm
Thank you so much for looking, greatly appreciate your time!
I wish you have a wonderful day!

Halloween Trick or Treat Necklace

Wednesday, October 8, 2014
Good day everyone, It's my second post this month at Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy blog and I'm here to share some Halloween project ideas with you. First I have a question, do you buy Halloween jewellery? ***hint hint*** Yes, today I want to share something I made with Clear Scrap October kit - a necklace for Halloween! I love this cute owl so much so I decided to make a necklace, the different layering of the acrylic shapes is great for creating this dimensional necklace.
You can wear this to a Halloween party or even for trick or treating!

Some easy tips/instructions:
Paint the arcylic in metallic gold, only on one side of the acrylic piece

Press the painted shape onto a textured napkin when it starting to dry (to give some texture to the owl), then paint another layer over the textured owl with red paint (I forgot to take picture for this step!), let dry.

Use adhesive dots, adhere eyes to owl. Trace and cut the owl's center piece (the web patterned card stock) and adhere it on a separate acrylic piece.
