Have An Enchanting Time Birthday Card

Sunday, July 9, 2017
Have you gotten the latest summer inspiration craft magazine by Crafter's Companion? You should because it comes with super cute fun stamps that you can use to create many different projects! I 'm particularly into this wizard stamp, it's so cute and the matching sentiment stamps are great too. I colored this image using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and the background was created using Tim Holtz distress ink pad.

I also sprinkled some white embossing powder on the background to create this "magical" snowy look. Make sure to get them on HSN this july 11th!! The Magazine itself has tons of inspirations for you to create with this set of stamps and as well as other latest products from Crafter's Companion.

- Inspiration Magazine Summber Issue 7 (Stamps)

Geared Up Card

Thursday, July 6, 2017
These adorable gears are from Sheena's Time Traveler's Stamps and Dies collection, don't they look marvelous?! I used it to make this masculine card and super liking the result. Showed it to my 6 years old boy and he said he liked the gears very much because they look like real gears (his critique are the only one I need. lol)

To create such a rusty look I first adhered a layer of gold foil over a cardstock, cut out the gear shapes using the coordinating dies and stamp the image of the gears onto the foiled surface.  Then these gears were adhered to the pre-cut foam gears (adhesive foam sheet) to give the card a dimensional feel. And it just so happened that I had this clock printed patterned cardstock, just what I needed for these gears!

The sentiment is from Sheena's Time Traveler's (Time Machine) stamp set, I heat-embossed it with white embossing powder so it doesn't blend into the background like it would with black ink.

Check out the sparkles! The rustiness looks absolutely gorgeous!! All you see here will be available to you on July 11th, just tune in to HSN to catch them before they are gone!!

Mixed Media Keepsake Box

Monday, July 3, 2017
I was at my local A.C Moore couple days ago and saw this cute wooden keepsake box and had to bring it home with me. I didn't have any idea about what I wanted to do with it until I saw this new text stamp set from Crafter's Companion and immediately this popped into my mind!

I first stamped it with embossing ink and heat set it with white embossing powder, I was worried how it would end up but luckily they turned out the way I hoped. I then colored the surface with Sparkle Markers (make sure not to use acrylic paint over the embossed letters or you won't get this result!) and when it dried completely I applied a layer of mod podge just to seal the surface.

For the center piece, I created the watercolor background with Sparkle Markers as well and they look pretty good. Using the same technique, I stamped and heat embossed the word "FAMILY LOVE" with white embossing powder then only I create the watercolor background on a watercolor cardstock.

I actually made two of similar design, one for the front and the other on the back.

The stamps sets are coming to HSN this July 11th in less than two weeks!! Don't forget to check the complete list of items coming to you!

3D Double-Sided Pop-Up Card With Tutorial

Sunday, May 28, 2017
Made this awhile back with detailed step-by-step instructions to create this pop-up card. I doubled the fun by adding pop-up elements on both sides of the card. Check out the following pictures to see what I mean! When the card is open it can sit on the wide base, perfect for mantelpiece display.

It's like glueing two separate pop-up cards together and since it's thicker than it usually is, I had to make a card "box" instead of using the regular envelope. If the box is sturdy enough, it can even be mailed as it is. I think it would look very cute.

Step 1: Prepare two construction cardstocks size 5 ¼" x 10", score and fold in half.

Step 2: Make two small cuts (about 1" long each) along the folded line (as shown in picture above). Fold inward to form the pop-up base for the card, as illustrated in third picture above. Do the same to the other construction cardstock.

Step 3: Prepare all the cut-out pieces to be used as decorations. These mixed media dies can be cut on different mediums such as (chipboard, foam felt and so on).

Step 4: Color the foam flowers (if preferred) with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers.

Step 5: Prepare the patterned paper for the card base, trim paper accordingly to accommodate the 3D pop-up piece. Adhere the patterned papers to the card base and start embellishing the card as desired.

Step 6: Connect two finished pop-up cards together with double-sided tapes.

Step 7: Decorate the outside of the card with patterned paper.

Step 8: Make the envelope box for the 3D pop-up card using the measurement in picture above.  Embellish the box with butterfly shape cut-out and ribbon.

Remove the card from the envelope box and a back-to-back pop-up card will be revealed

- Mixed Media Dies Set (Leaves)
- Mixed Media Dies Set (Tree)
- Mixed Media Dies Set (Graceful Butterflies)
- Construction cardstock - 9" x 12"
- Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker (CR9)

Rock On Card With Groovin' 60

Thursday, May 18, 2017
Sharing a card created using Sheena's Groovin' 60's collection stencils and Just For Men collection stamps set. Loving the 60's feel? This collection is for you then. I typically like the shadow's stamp set of the board skater and the birthday sentiments that come with the set. It's so groovy and beautiful. Check out this other project I made with other Groovin' 60's stencil here and another card here using the stamps set, you get what I mean now? It's just too cute to pass on!

The stencils are great for creating backgrounds for cards, scrapbook layout or even mixed media canvas! I decided to use it as card background by tracing the shape of the stencil's patterns on a watercolor cardstock using Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers and fill in the rest of the traced area with the same markers but using the brush nib this time instead of the fine nib which I used for tracing. Lastly I stamped the board skater image in black over the colored flowers.

You Fill My Heart With Love Card With Foiling Kit

Friday, May 5, 2017
Wonder what you can do with the Crafter's Companion foiling kit you bought? What type of projects are your favorite when it comes to paper crafting? The two main paper crafting I do are scrapbooking (this is actually what that got me into crafting in the first place) and card making but since it takes longer to scrapbook so I decided to make a card instead today (I should probably get back to scrapbooking soon I hope, pictures of my kids are piling up!).

Here is the card I made using the foiling kit, no heat no mess. Like I mentioned in my previous posts, it's like rub-ons and it works like a charm every time! Of course I had to use my favorite gold and silver cardstocks from the Together Forever collection by Sara Davies (if you don't know by now how much I looove gold and glittery cardstocks). hehe. The thickness of the cardstock is also perfect for dry embossing, it gives you the depth and beautiful texture you can feel on your fingers. Simply love! See end of post for the complete list of supplies.
