Gift Presentation with Die-Cuts

Friday, November 18, 2016
Need some quick gift presentation tips? Today I'm going to show you how easy it is to decorate your gift box using die-cuts. Along with the gift box punch board from We R Memory Keeper making gift box is so much easier and faster! I'll demonstrate how it's done but first lets take a look at the different sizes of gift box I created!

Cardstocks by CutCardStock is perfect for making these adorable gift boxes, especially the cover cardstocks they are great for sturdy boxes.

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare a cardstock by referring to the measurement details as shown on the Memory Keeper Gift Box Punch board. In this tutorial, a 8 x 8 cardstock will be used to make a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/4" box. Score and punch according to the instruction explained on the board. Fold along lines to form a box.

Step 2: Take a decorative die and place it in the middle of the scored cardstock in Step 1. Run the cardstock and die through a die-cut machine. Prepare a clear acetate (any plastic packaging can be used for this step) and adhere to the inside of the box (behind the circle) with double-sided tapes, as shown in pictures above.

Step 3: Die-cut a paper bow using any bow dies you have.

Step 4: Make a band for the box where the bow sits on. Using the same punch board, punch notches on both sides of the band as shown in picture above. Place the bow on top of the punched notches and done.
Die-cut other holidays decorative dies and use as gift box embellishments. It's that simple! I love the cardstock quality from CutCardStock, it makes quality gift boxes! And CutCardStock also offers so many different colors cardstock for different occasions, how convenient!! And don't forget to stock up the Red, Green and White cardstocks now while they are on sale!

Feeling groovy?! Sheena's Groovin' 60's line is releasing tomorrow! Check out the card I created with the beautiful stencil and stamp set from this line, what do you think? Don't the stamps look fabulous?! There is a total of six different stencils and six stamp sets you can choose from and play with. What I like about the 60's is the colorful retro designs, never have too much colors!

This stamp set I used is called "RPM", obviously I bet you can tell straight from the card and the stencil is called "Groovy Perspective". What's your perspective?! :) Don't forget to check Crafter's Companion's Pinterest board or Facebook page for more project ideas.

Sara Signature English Country Garden

Wednesday, November 9, 2016
English Country Garden is coming to town....oh did you notice, this amazing treat? They can be found here at Crafter's Companion. The fact is, you don't have to wait till Christmas to get it! Hehe. All you see here on the card (except the sentiment) are from the same collection. Don't you just love the window? It's such a cute window, I'm thinking of another shaker card using this die already so check back soon!

The nested butterfly dies are beautiful, most (or all) of my butterfly dies are monarch shaped. This is my first that looks different and I'm loving it. The patterned paper also has this English feel to it, beautiful soft pastel colors.

- SS English Country Garden Collection 12X12 Paper Pad

Special Day with Downtown Abbey

Saturday, November 5, 2016
Another quick and elegant card today, no fancy folding or cutting required! Downtown Abbey paper crafting collection consists of this foiled paper pad and it's absolutely gorgeous for card making. I used the crown die on a gold foil cardstock and the sentiment is from the Downtown Abbey card making kit. The squares were cut with the square dies that come with the Gemini Machine.

I like the foiled and regular patterns from the 6x6 paper pad, they even match with each other. This card is good for men (it's pretty obvious since it has a crown?), it's not too fancy and it's elegant! I truly wish USPS wouldn't charge extra postage (especially mailing internationally!) for mailing a square card because I really love making square cards.

Supplies:

- Downtown Abbey 6x6 Paper Pad
- Downtown Abbey Metal Die (Downton Abbey Icons)
- Downtown Abbey Card Making Kit
- Gemini Machine and Square Dies

Die-cut + Watercolored Holly Christmas Card

Friday, November 4, 2016
It's the time of the year again, holidays crafting has officially started! I'm here to share a water-colored Christmas card with you all. The color scheme this month is red, green and white so here is what I came up with...

I colored the image and background with Gansai Tambi watercolors - love it!

Directions:

Step 1: Die-cut a holly leaf shape and use the negative as masking on a pre-cut watercolor paper card base. Trace around the inner shape with a pencil.

Step 2: Water-color the background with blue and leaf with green colors. Play around the colors to get desired color tone. Let dry.

Step 3: Using the cutout holly leaf outline shape from Step 1 and adhere it on top of the water-colored image. Adhere carefully on the traced lines so it would not be visible.

Step 4: Die-cut the same holly leaf die on a red cardstock, extract the red holly berries cutouts and insert/glue to the missing puzzle on the card.

Step 5: Die-cut a stitched frame and Merry Christmas sentiment and glue on to the card.

That's it, simple and lovely handmade Christmas card for the season! Hope you like the card, have fun creating!
