House Home Decor

Saturday, April 4, 2015
Happy TGIF! This is Alexia here with you today, I'm going to share with you the first project I created with the latest April kit! You are going to love the all the items that come with the kit, if you haven't check out the new kit you should do so!

I love this arrow chipboard album but I decided to make it into a home decor instead of using it as a regular album. It reminded me of the shape of a house when I saw this arrow album, so here it is a 3D house home decor.

To create the house home decor, here is the tutorial:

Step 1: Lay one chipboard on top of another as shown below and trace line. Do this to all arrow shape chipboards.

Step 2: Trim off the smaller piece with a craft knife or scissor, discard the smaller pieces.

Step 3: Take three chipboards from Step 2, remove the triangle shape from the chipboards. Set aside.

Step 3: Take two of the chipboard from Step 2, embellish it with patterned papers. Cut patterned paper in the shape of a roof and wall as shown in the picture below.

Step 4: Adhere the cut-out patterned papers to the chipboard.

Using double-sided foam tape, adhere second layer to the roof with another piece of patterned paper to create a dimensional look.

Step 5: Using the stencil (it comes with the kit too), decorate the outside wall by stenciling it with daubers and inks.

Step 6: This step is optional. Spread some some modeling paste on one of the square chipboard from Step 3. This square chipboard is to be used as the bottom piece for the house.

Step 7: Take the last two pieces of square chipboards from Step 3 and decorate it with patterned paper. This two pieces are to be used as the front and back roof for the house. Adhere all pieces together with hot glue gun.

Step 8: This step is to embellish the house with the chipboard stickers that come with the kit. As you can see, I hot glue them to the bottom piece (floor) and colored some of the white paper flowers (come with the kit as well) and glue them to the floor.

NOTE: For the center piece, you can use a chipboard or piece of heavy card stock. Decorate it with sentiments such as "HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS" and embellishments from the chipboard stickers.

I hope you like the project above! To purchase this kit, you can go to Clear Scraps' Creating Made Easy online store HERE. Thank you for checking out my post today! Happy Creating!
