Sara Signature Traditional Christmas Paper Crafting Collection

Sunday, October 30, 2016
I just realized the recent posts of my blog are all Christmas related! Wow...I'm impressed! Usually around this time I would be making more Halloween crafts and not Christmas! Where is my Halloween spirit? hmm....obviously it has been taken over by the Christmas spirit. Hehe.

And again today, another Christmas card....surprise surprise...

Remember the Sara Signature Traditional Christmas paper crafting collection I mentioned in my previous post? Here you are! Here is one of the sample I created using the collection, don't you just love the holly leaves and the shiny gold colors? The gold mirror card pad is part of the collection, unlike regular gold foil card stock this gold mirror card is the shiniest ever!

Followings are the bundle put together for this collection.

The metal dies below are part of the collection as well but it's not included in the bundle above. This is an amazing deal and whole lot of fun you can create using these dies for total of 17 dies altogether!
Hurry over and grab these items while they are still on sale!

Birthday Present Card

Friday, October 28, 2016
Sharing a quick card using scraps today! Made this card using the pieces of scraps that I was going to get rid of, who would have thought it could be turned into another beautiful card?! Maximize the usage of your craft supplies! The bow is cut on a yellow felt using Teresa Collins' bow metal die and assembled with hot glue. It's a beautiful touch to a simple card and turning it into a mixed media project.

What You'll Need...
 - Paper Scraps
- Double-sided Foam Tape
- Felt
- Teresa Collins Bow Die
- Hot Glue Gun
- Paper Trimmer

Sara Signature Comtemporary Christmas Papercrafting Collection

Welcome back my crafty friends! It's going into November soon which means it's time for holidays crafting (if you haven't already started)! It feels like Christmas crafting is an all-year-round thing, at least it is to me. No wonder my husband kept telling me to celebrate one holiday at a time! LoL.

I made this gift bag with the latest Christmas paper crafting collection called Comtemporary Christmas by Sara Davies. What you will find in this collection is the decorative border dies (come in three different designs - Christmas tree, houses and Santa's Sleigh), reindeer die, stylish Christmas tree, Snowflakes and so on. So much good stuffs and most of them were on my wishlist before Sara released this collection. There is also this Traditional Christmas collection which I will be sharing in the next few days or you can check it out at HSN website. These will be available at Crafter's Companion website soon.

What caught your eyes? My most favorites are the border dies and the Christmas tree. Don't forget to check back for the Traditional Christmas collection!

Butterfly Shaker Gift Tag

Tuesday, October 25, 2016
It's Alexia here today to share a gift idea with you - I created this butterfly shaker gift tag that is good for any occasions. My son was invited to his classmate's birthday party yesterday and after I had wrapped up the present I felt like something was missing so this idea came to me to create a butterfly gift tag which I think a little girl (or adult) will like. See below for the instructions to make these cute tags!

Directions:

Step 1: First die-cut butterfly frames using metal dies (you can do it with electronic cutting machine if you want to). For one shaker tag, cut two red, four medium-weight chipboard and two acetate butterfly frames (for the acetate frames, make sure to only run the dies through the die-cut machine once- do not cut out the center piece). Another way to do it is to die-cut the acetate with only the larger butterfly die.

Tips: Secure the metal dies with masking tape so all the cutout frames are the same size.

Step 2: Take one chipboard frame and glue it to the back of a red frame (do this to the other red frame as well).

Step 3: Glue the acetates to each of the red frames from Step 4 then glue one chipboard frame on to each of the acetate frames.

Step 4: Apply a loop of ribbon on the top-center of the butterfly with double-sided tape (or hot glue if preferred).

Step 5: Fill the center with sequins and apply glue around the frame. Adhere the remaining chipboard frame to it and followed by the last red frame with acetate to seal.

Done! I hope you find this project fun and inspiring. Until next time! Happy Crafting.

Joy Christmas Card

Thursday, October 13, 2016
It seems Christmas has arrived early this year (or every year?), I spotted Christmas stuffs are up for sale in some store already. Even more people are sharing their beautiful handmade Christmas cards on Facebook, and of course I had to follow the trend. I made this Christmas card for  HSN last week using their latest Holiday die which is the Christmas tree used in the card below.

I smeared some modeling paste over the glittered gold cardstock to make it looks like snow. And I used some liquid pearls to make the garland on the tree. Since this is a design team project, most of the products used are from Crafter's Companion. See below for a detailed list of supplies used.

Supplies:- Die'sire Christmas Edge Dies (Decorative Tree)
- Festive Wonder Decorative Metal Die ( Snowflake Trio)
- Lowercase Alphabet Dies
- Shimmering Cardstock (Forest Green)
- Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock
- Die'sire Essentials Dies (Circles)
- Gemini Machine

Others:
- Gold Glittered Cardstock
- Liquid Pearl
- Modeling Paste

Pop-Up Butterfly Shaker Card

Monday, October 10, 2016
Sharing with you today is a card I made using the Butterfly Lullaby collection by Sara Davies. I have been making quite a lot of shaker card or boxes lately, trying to find different ways to incorporate the shaker element. I'm particularly liking this one very much because of how the sequins are scattered in the back as the butterfly wing's color and it's feels like the wings are changing its color when the card is shaken.

Like I mentioned in my previous post, this butterfly is so far my most favorite butterfly die! What about you? What's your favorite cutting die?

Thank you for visiting my blog, hope you have an awesome weekend!

Supplies:
- Butterfly Lullaby Decorative Die (Butterfly)
- Butterfly Lullaby 6x6 Paper Pad

Pop-Up Panel Thank You Card

Saturday, October 8, 2016
Hi all! I'm back today with one of the recent popular projects - a pop-up panel card. This panel card is one of the most discussed projects I have seen in some crafting forums so I decided to make one myself. It's actually pretty easy although the tutorial may seem a little long and challenging. I managed to create a template in svg format if you are interested in making one of this super cute and interactive card.

Here is what I'm talking about....

This is how it looks like once it's opened up...cool?!

I will explain to you how to create this cute project in the tutorial below, but first download the svg cut file from the link at the end of this post.

Directions:

Step 1: Download file and cut the svg images shown on your Silhouette Designer Studio.

Step 2: Take the main cutout, place on the scoring board and score at 4 1/4".

Step 3: Align the lines together and fold (as shown in picture below). Do this to the other side as well.

Once you did all the above, fold both wings inwards to form a structure below.

It should looks like this when closed.

Step 4: Take the second piece of cutout - the panel, fold along the dotted lines. The panel size should be 2 3/4" x 11" (Do not change the size before cutting in Silhouette Designer Studio).

Step 5: Apply double-sided adhesives on alternate sides of the wings, refer to picture below. Then stick the panel over it as shown in second picture in this step. Note: Leave about 1 1/2" outside the each wings.

Step 6: This is a decorating step, embellish the panel and card.

Step 7: Trim a standard size card base which is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and adhere the result from Step 6 to inside of the card base.  Finish the front of the card with patterned paper and sentiment. Done!

I hope you enjoy making this interactive card, you won't regret it! I'm going to make couple more of this and send it out for Thanksgiving! Happy crafting.

New Holidays Crafting Dies on HSN today!

Wednesday, October 5, 2016
It's on HSN today!! Head on over now and watch Jennifer Tryon demonstrates you how to create with all the brand new dies and other Crafter's Companion goodies! Following is a card I created with one of the Create-a-Card dies you can get on HSN with a great deal today! I'm so tempted by other holidays dies (I don't have all of them so I might order some, they are too cute not to!).

I rotated the square die 45 degree and die-cut it to make this card, I also used the stitched die and corner dies. Simple and elegant card you can make with these amazing dies. Did you see the other project I created using this die? A gift box with shaker cover - check here to see!

Here is the Crafter's Companion schedule on HSN for today!
