DIY Christmas Ornament

Thursday, December 22, 2016
Check out this DIY ornament I created using oatmeal container! Reuse and up-cycle unused items into something new. Not only it's cost effective but also environment friendly! Very festive for the season. You can personalize it by putting something different in the center on the container, such as pictures and other memorabilia items.

Usually the oatmeal container is pretty tall, I cut it down to about 1 1/4" wide and use the original cover as the base. Add mini ornaments by punching two small holes on the side of the container and string twine and ornaments through. Then glue the clear acetate to the back of the opening and you get this! Don't forget to decorate the background with patterned papers if desired.

Christmas Card Using Negatives from Die-Cut

Monday, December 19, 2016
Another Christmas Card using Contemporary Christmas paper crafting collection by Sara Davies! Using the negative from a die-cut it makes another perfect simple and elegant card. Which means if you make a die-cut you are actually able to make two projects. How awesome is that?! My all-time favorite craft projects are die-cutting and stamping but I've been involved in die-cutting much more than stamping this year! Check out my Instagram for more die-cutting techniques and project inspirations!

Christmas Magic Layout with Stardream Metallics

Friday, December 16, 2016
Hi! I'm back today with my first A4-sized scrapbook page using Stardream Metallics cardstock. I usually make 12 x 12 scrapbook layout but creating this smaller size version is just as much fun. I picked the Mars and Opal cardstocks from Stardream Metallics collection for my layout, I simply love the shimmering colors for a scrapbook background!

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the supplies for creating the layout, including the die-cut shapes that will be used for embellishing the scrapbook page.

Step 2: Run the metal dies and color or patterned cardstock through the die-cut machine. For the following shape, I cut the tree twice (one with a solid green cardstock and another with patterned cardstock. See supplies list for the 6 x 6 pattern cardstock used for this step.

Step 3: Start decorating the 8 1/2 x 11" Stardream cardstock with the cutouts from the dies. Gold foil cardstock is used as some of the embellishment as well.

Step 4: Add some pearls and acrylic pieces for some unique (3-dimensional) touches to finish off the layout.

I hope you enjoy this layout! If you haven't try a A4-sized layout you should really give it a try! Here I wish you have a wonderful holidays! -

Entwined Holly Card

Wednesday, December 14, 2016
I'm back!! Today's project is this Merry Christmas Card using paper piercing technique. I first did the center piece using regular die-cut method and then using the same die, I die-cut it on a gold mirror card and fill the missing pieces on the silver cardstock with the gold pieces like a puzzle. It's actually pretty easy to create and it looks great for the contrast. What's your opinion?!

I created this card using the embossing folder from Sara Signature Traditional Christmas paper crafting collection. It was embossed on a gold mirror card and trimmed by hand. The presents were all handmade (not from die-cut!). I love the Santa sleigh very much, perfect for this arrangement with all the presents stacked on top.

Gift Presentation with Die-Cuts

Friday, November 18, 2016
Need some quick gift presentation tips? Today I'm going to show you how easy it is to decorate your gift box using die-cuts. Along with the gift box punch board from We R Memory Keeper making gift box is so much easier and faster! I'll demonstrate how it's done but first lets take a look at the different sizes of gift box I created!

Cardstocks by CutCardStock is perfect for making these adorable gift boxes, especially the cover cardstocks they are great for sturdy boxes.

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare a cardstock by referring to the measurement details as shown on the Memory Keeper Gift Box Punch board. In this tutorial, a 8 x 8 cardstock will be used to make a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/4" box. Score and punch according to the instruction explained on the board. Fold along lines to form a box.

Step 2: Take a decorative die and place it in the middle of the scored cardstock in Step 1. Run the cardstock and die through a die-cut machine. Prepare a clear acetate (any plastic packaging can be used for this step) and adhere to the inside of the box (behind the circle) with double-sided tapes, as shown in pictures above.

Step 3: Die-cut a paper bow using any bow dies you have.

Step 4: Make a band for the box where the bow sits on. Using the same punch board, punch notches on both sides of the band as shown in picture above. Place the bow on top of the punched notches and done.
Die-cut other holidays decorative dies and use as gift box embellishments. It's that simple! I love the cardstock quality from CutCardStock, it makes quality gift boxes! And CutCardStock also offers so many different colors cardstock for different occasions, how convenient!! And don't forget to stock up the Red, Green and White cardstocks now while they are on sale!
