Merry Christmas Gift Box

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Hello all! It's almost the time of the year again! Head over to CutCardStock blog now for Holiday Countdown Series from the 10th to 21st this month! This is my project shared on CutCardStock blog yesterday! This gift box is perfect for gift giving this holiday season! To create this project, I have a step-by-step tutorial.

Here is how to make this cute little gift box!

Step 1: Download this cut file over at CutCardStock Blog HERE and cut the images out with your cutting machine, the CutCardStock's #80 card stock is perfect for this project because the card stock is not flimsy to hold gift inside. If you are using heavier cut stock that's even better, just remember to set your blade setting to proper paper thickness. The following is what I got after cutting the image file, the image you download might be slightly different than the one I used but the way to construct is similar.

Step 2: Apply adhesives on all the closing flaps, close and form a box. I cut a square card stock and adhere to the inside of the top cover of the box.

Step 3: Run the decorative strip through sticker maker and adhere to the box

Step 4: Embellish the box with some gold star sequins, I used Glue Dots adhesive

Step 5: Wrap the box with ribbon (of course, don't forget to put your gift inside first! hehe)

You can make a bunch of these for gift giving, simply change the front design if you like (instead of "Merry Christmas" you can change it to "From Santa", "Happy New Year", etc). This box is great for holding gift card too!

Love You 24/7 Layout

Friday, November 7, 2014
My recent layout for Craftwell DT project, love the Teresa Collins' Memory Collection dies! Check out Craftwell blog for more Cut N' Boss and eBrush projects!

To create the calendar background (I used the exact calendar template for the month the picture was taken), cut out the template with my Cameo and use it for masking, airbrushed it.
Here is how it looks like after airbrushed:

Line up the cut outs and glue them to the background

Run the all the dies that you want to use for embellishing the layout through Cut n’ Boss machine

Run them through Xyron Sticker Maker and start embellishing!

Here are the closer shots on the details:

I hope you like the layout and thank you for your time to check out my post today!

Happy Thanksgiving Gift Bags

Thursday, November 6, 2014
Hello! I hope your day has been treating you good! I'm happy to be here today to share some crafting ideas with you. The November kit from Clear Scraps Creating Made Easy Kit Club is a great kit to start off Thanksgiving' crafting, the kit is loaded with so much goodies, paper kraft bags, 12x12 acrylics sheets, burlaps, gorgeous 12x12 papers, just to name a few! I'm sure you have already seen the kit's preview on the 1st of the month, if not you can go HERE to check out the new kit!
Now let's take a look at one of the projects I have created using this amazing kit!

You can emboss the paper bag, I removed the handles for the bags and embossed them using embossing folders. To see how to do this, I will have a short tutorial at the end of this post.

I also made die-cut some paper bags using Teresa Collins' cutting dies, including the bottle one. I think it's really cute when you can actually show what's inside the bag! :) Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take the progress for this one! I was so into making this I totally forgot to snap some pictures, what can I say? Crafting is fun! lol.

However I have some close-up pictures here. Peek-a-boo I see you! You can see what's inside but not completely.

I absolutely love this, I think it's cute to send this as a gift to someone.

Step 2: Insert half of the opening of the embossing folder in to the paper bag, run it through your embossing machine.

This is how it's going to look like! Cute?

Step 3: For the doilie, I used a doilie die from Couture Creations. This way you can personalize the doilie to the pattern that you prefer.

Step 4: The following steps will be embellishing your gift bags! To finish it up, simply punch holes on the top (the doilie too) and insert ribbons.

I hope you like what I did to to the gift bags! Start adding personalized touches to your gift bags, you'll never know how beautiful it's going to turn out until you try it! And who knows, you might touch someone's heart too! :)
Not included in the kit: Ribbons

Xyron and The Paper House Blog Hop!

Monday, November 3, 2014
Good day everyone! Yes, you have came to the right place for Xyron and The Paper House Blog Hop! The project I want to share with you today is a Calendar for 2015! This paper collection of The Paper House is perfect for creating this, the designs of the card stocks reminded me of the pre-made calendars that are selling at the mall! Just last week my husband and I were at the mall and talking about getting one of this! Luckily we didn't because now we have a handmade one and you can customize it however you want it (embellishments, etc)!

I'm sharing a tutorial to do this too! I designed the calendar myself on my Silhouette designer software and I want to share with you today for free (please only for personal use, greatly appreciated!). Please go to the bottom of post to download the file.

Tutorial starts here:

Step 1: Download and cut the pre-designed calendar cut files. It's a single file with 12 calendar designs in it. You will need 12 card stocks, at least 8.5" x 11" in size.

Step 2: This is how it looks like, arrange the position you want the calendar to be on the patterned card stock. Adhere with Xyron double-sided tape although I highly suggest you to use Xyron 9" Creative Station if you have one, it makes your life so much easier! lol. I don't usually make a project this big so I don't have a 9" one, I should probably get one though for Just In Case! hehe.

This just to show you how I did it with Xyron 1/4" double-sided tape.

Step 3: Once you finished sticking all the calendars onto the patterned card stocks, you can now adhere the title - the month for each calendar. I cut them with my Cameo, any font text will do. Then, run them through Xyron 2.5" Sticker Maker and adhere to the top of calendar.

Step 5: Start embellishing the calendar with The Paper House Stickers and layered embellishments!

Step 6: Punch the holes on top of the calendars for file rings using Teresa Collins hole puncher.

Step 7: Apply reinforcement rings and file rings and you are done!

Here are couple shots of how each month of my calendar looks like:

For the front page, I use another patterned card stock and decorate it with some The Paper House sticker embellishments. Title is from Basic Grey alphabet stickers. If you are going to hang this calendar on the wall, simply take another single hole puncher and punch a hole at the bottom of each calendar! I hope you enjoy making your own 2015 calendar, it means so much more than some premade calendar! You can even add personal touch to the calendar such as different color for a specific date for birthdays and such. It's going to be fun!

Start making this calendar by downloading the calendar cut files HERE. (Sorry, this is only for Cameo users only)
